For the past couple of days both my 9 week old boys have been resisting being handled, e.g, nibbling, trying to get away.

Could it be that this is just a necessary part of the bonding process? (I'm a first time owner!) Or could there be something behind their reluctance? Thank you in advance.

That sounds absolutely normal for a pair of squiggly 9 week olds!

At that age they are very keen to be off exploring but also rather nervous of new things. Try spending time sitting with them and just talking to them. Try not to come towards them from above as that's pretty scary, get down on their level as much as you can when you need to pick them up. Use their favourite foods as bribes and see if they will come to your hand for it, be patient, they will in time.

For picking them up, try using a cosy or something similar so they have somewhere to hide and feel safe on your lap. It also makes squiggly babies easier to hang on to :)

They'll get there but it will take time. Some piggies are never very keen on it and some just take time. My boys love cuddles but it took one of them a few years to realise it was ok to sit down, he'd rather have been off menacing around on the floor!

@MerryPip thank you so much! I sit and talk to them often and I have even tried out different styles of music with them, they seem to get the most excited and playful when Justin Bieber is on... I'll definitely keep at it, even if we don't share the same taste XD
