Tia and Tilly (my peruvians) had a 'posh n go' bath today. 11 hours later and they are still damp (they have soooo much hair!) so are in for the night as I don't want to put them back in the shed until they are completley dry. Even though I now have heating in the shed, I don't want to take the risk or them getting a chill. I have set up a temporary pen with grids in my bedroom and within about 5 minutes the water bottle was doing my head in. Noisey drinkers. So I have given them a bowl instead - and they seem to really like it!

So - what is best for the piggys - bottles or bowls? I guess for me the bottle is better because I won't have to change it 4 times a day because it doesn't get soiled like a bowl but what do you think the piggys prefer?

(Stopping the noisey bottle was great - now it is just the hay munching that is loud) :D ;D

Bottles here for us but when I did use a bowl for Bumble once she liked it.

ours are all used to bottles, rattly when they drink though, lol

Eazifill water bottle here too. Never used bowls.

bottles. tried a bowl once, piggys didn't seem to care about the bowl. they were very little then though.

Bowls for us, tho Duke doesn't even drink his water, we've never ever seen him drink :o
But syringe him water each day :-*
The bowls can get soiled easily, for some reason Duke and Sully used to love tossing their pellets into it ewwww at first i thought they'd pooed in there then i realised 2funny 2funny 2funny 2funny

I always use bottles - the bowls just get dirty too quickly for us... Only time I have bowls for water is in the summer in the runs outside along with bottles as well...

The only time Squeak looks at the bowl of water in the summer though is when I put bit of fruit in it as well! ;)

Bottles all the way for me as they keep the water contamination free, are easy to fill, and secretly I think piggys love being as noisey as they can drinking from them.

All mine have bottles for the exception of Icey and Tiny - who go through phases - and also Cuddles and Squealy who use bowls :)

I use both especially in the summer, last summer mine where guzzerling the water from the bowl and bottle. so both for me.

When we initially had our first two boys we were very concerned that they didn't drink much at all, so we tried bowls as well as bottles - they seemed to like it, but it looks like they peed and pooped in it on a regular basis ? so we decided to only put heavy little bowls out at pen time. So bottles here for all three.

I personally prefer bottles - I know that a bowl of water with my piggies will quickly get soiled with floating, soggy poo - lovely.

Well, they are all dry (and looking beautiful!) and back in the shed with bottles again now! I think they may have preferred to drink from the bowl, but I am defo a bottle fan. A lot less messy :)

Definitely bottles. I tried putting water bowls in the runs in the summer but I don't think they knew what to do with them so bottles it is!

i like the bottles better and i think the pigs do too... wilson gets hay, poo, wee everything he can in the bowls its gross lol!
