Hi guys!
One of my baby piggies is quite bottom heavy, it looks like she has two saggy balls hanging from her belly on either side. The belly is still soft when I massage it and she's acting normally. Is this anything to worry about? She is only about 7 weeks old. Please help!IMG_8539.webpIMG_8547.webpIMG_8549.webp

Welcome to the forum!
I don't know why she is bottom heavy, but I suggest taking your piggy to the vet if you are worried :(

Can you get a clear photo of both of their private parts? Pets@home sex animals wrong alot. Try not to massage your pig until you know what the swelling is

As you've only had her a few weeks, it's possible you came home with a pregnant guinea pig... even if the two you have are female (and I would definitely double-check that, as pet stores are not always good at determining gender!) it's possible she was with males before you bought her. Guinea pigs can breed very, very early. Otherwise, it's possible that she is just a round little pig... there are plenty of pigs that are very pear-shaped.

I came home from Pets at Home with a pregnant pig. It was obvious after a week. I took both girls for their free health check at the instore vets Vets4Pets and the vet confirmed it. I saw the store manager and complained and he said I could take anything I wanted to help with the pregnancy so I helped myself to hay, food etc and then he said he would take back any boys she had or I could have a free hutch for them. I told him my garden wasn't big enough for another hutch and if she had any boys would Pets at Home pay for them to be neutered and to my surprise he said yes! I don't think this is the same with all stores though. But if you don't ask, you don't get. Pets at Home paid for the vets bills for everything to do with the pregnancy and post pregnancy checks, sexing the pups and neutering the boys too.

I got them from Pets at Home about 3 weeks ago, so not at all sure of their ages but pretty sure they're both female!
I would contact PAH and get an appointment with their vet (at their expense). Ask them to double check sexes and assess if little one is pregnant. She looks as if she may be. There's lots of info on the pregnancy section that you may want to check out.
She's very cute by the way!

What a beautiful girl.
Hope all goes well at the vets.
If she is pregnant you will find the best advice and support on the forum

Hi and welcome!

Please see a vet for a potential pregnancy. Make sure that you double-check the gender of the companion. We cannot diagnose a pregnancy reliably from just a picture without a careful and gentle hands-on examination.
Sexing Guide

If your girl is indeed pregnant (and she should be somewhere in the last third of a roughly 10 weeks pregnancy if she is starting showing), then please open an ongoing support thread in our pregnancy section, which is there for any members finding themselves with an unplanned pregnancy or surprise babies. We will talk you through everything in that section.

Please take the time to read through our advice, which covers the whole period and has been specifically written for owners with no previous experience. You will hopefully find it very helpful. It tells you all you need to know and look out for at every stage. Make sure that you read our pregnancy diet advice in order to minimise any birthing risks you can influence.
You can access the advice via this link here: Pregnancy & Baby Care Guide's

Once a pregnancy has been confirmed, you can contact p@h and ask for support. As you have been in effect sold damaged ware, you are protected by customer rights in this aspect. Don't yourself be fobbed off with substandard cages etc.
