Hi everyone,

Any one had an issue with piggy holding up hind leg? Spotted this afternoon she is not weight bearing on hind limb. She will use it now and again but mainly holding up and limping along. Any advice......?

I would get her checked by a vet as soon as you can. She may need painkillers

Is she an active pig ? Could well be that she has jumped and sprained a muscle or pulled a tendon ?
Best see your vet :tu:

Thanks for you advice. They are both very active and do a lot of jumping about including off their ramp! So I am hoping she has just pulled something, she seems happy enough eating drinking still. Will observe her in the morning and see if the restricted rest tonight helps...if not then will go to vets. Fingers crossed X

Is there any chance she has broken her leg. You would know by putting slight pressure on her foot & see if she pushed. Definitely a vet appointment needed because she could be in pain which could then cause her to lose appetite x

Hi, personaly l would get it looked at by your vet , beter safe than sorry :tu:

Hi everyone, bourbon went to vets this morning as it had not improved overnight, whilst at vets I asked him to check her for bloating as she had ballooned the last couple of days.

So he X-rays her leg and tummy, Leg showed no break! :) phew so just a strain and on anti imflamitries, however he then went on to show us the X-ray of her tummy and we are now expecting 3/4 baby Piggys in a week or so! Ohhhhhhh my god! I nearly fainted!
