Could anyone please advise on a problem I'm having with my three piggy boys, who I have had for the past year? I have them inside, in C&C accommodation. One timid little boy was being bullied by the other two. He was physically attacked by the most dominant one a number of times. In the end, I divided their housing in half and put him on his own. He seemed happy to start with. He could still talk to the others through the C&C grid separating them.
However, he has suddenly decided that he wants back with his companions. He has begun doing anything he can to get past the barrier, lifting it with his nose, and sometimes succeeding in getting through. This always results in the dominant GP attacking him, even more viciously than before. This never deters him. He just keeps trying to get to them again and again.
I fear for his safety if I put them back together, but he is clearly lonely. Should I try to get another timid boy to be his new companion? Or should I let them battle it out? There are never injuries, but the fighting seems nasty and the timid piggy is very shaken by it.
Thank you.

Unfortunately boar trios do usually fail - very occasionally one will work but they are the exception not the rule. Three boars together find it very hard to form a functioning hierarchy so usually end up fighting and separations at some point. To this end, and as fights have occurred, please do not put them back together again - fights are a clear sign they don’t like each other.

Finding a character compatible friend for your single boy (ideally via dating at a rescue centre) is the best thing to do to ensure he is happy.

Thank you so much for this. It is clear from what you say that the three of them will never get on. They did start out as a foursome, from a rescue, but one poor boy died after only three months, leaving a three. I will try the new companion idea.
Best wishes.
