Does anyone else have this problem? I love my piggys to bits (ok maybe a little TOO much!) as i go on about them all the time and talk to them all the time, and always see little bits to buy for them, weather its a new blanket or toys, treats etc. I was talking about them the other day and I said to my bloke 'shall I show you how cute some of them are on the rescue website?' and my normally tolerant bloke replied 'no-i'm not interested!' Now i can see why he's not, but i make the effort to be interested in his sport/ friends/ beer drinking/ kebeb eating etc etc (you get the picture) is anyone elses other half blatantly not interested?! My school of thought is love me love my piggys!xoxo

my ex didnt really pay an interest and used to moan to me that the piggies got more cuddles than him ..... of course they would! they actually spent more time with me as he always wandered off out with mates!

I think they just get jealous of our babies! hehe!

My OH pretends he's not interested but secretly loves them to bits! :)) Think they try to be all macho and not interested but who can resist those cute little faces! x)

aw thats sweet - I'm living back with the rents and thats what my dad is like!

my ex was just a miserable old git though!

Mine is the opposite Peter gives them more cuddles than I do! lol Usually because I'm too busy cleaning them out, getting their veggies etc etc! :))

He doesn't share my views on a dog though! Damn him!

When I gave birth to my daughter I was called a baby bore, now I'm still a bore but just about animals!

It drives my OH up the wall everytime he sees me on the computer as he knows it's an animal forum or rescue site I'm looking at :)p

My husband loves our piggies and due to working long shifts sometimes sits up and plays with them or the rabbits at silly hours of the night/morning and he is equally responsible for spoiling them. However he does not get the whole forum business and has little interest in looking at other peoples piggies

My hubby isn't a small furries man either :(, however, having said that he can often be found searching the garden for dandelion leaves and he gets a buzz when the piggies run up to him to see what he's got! Silly man still hasn't worked out they are only interested in the food!:))

I run a small pet hotel for buns, piggies, hamsters etc. so in addition to our own piggies, we always have lots of small furries around. I do try very hard to not become an "animal bore" - but it is very hard, that's why I come on line to chat to you lot!:)

Ah Sandra i never knew you run the hotel! thats good to know living so close to you, and soon maybe even closer!

it is hard yes, sometimes you just can stop yourself!

me and my boyfriend bought our piggies together so it's very much a shared thing. and he's pretty good at cleaning them out and things as well. in fact most mornings we'll email each other about funny things the pigs did when we saw them that morning

(they live in C&C cages in the dining room so you have to have a chat with them when you're making breakfast!)

it's a great thing sharing them with him. we're like a proper family!

We've been running for just over 3 years now and it's the best job ever! I'm sure Julie (Boureki) will give me a reference if you need one Emily.:)

Thats so cute! bless you both x
By boyfriend only likes the fun parts of having pigs, he's not cleaned the cage out once and doesnt get involved in medicine giving or topping up water bottles, he only likes the feeding them because he gets a chorus of wheeks until bowls are in cages! :))

My OH pretends he's not interested in my piggies but when I bring them in for cuddles he always talks to them & hand feeds them some veggies He's even been out in the rain to pick some grass for them.I told him yesterday that I was going to buy them a lovely bed for xmas from Hammocky hammocks & he didn't say a word, I was expecting at least a tut! He never bothers with the 2 cats so I think he's taken a likeing to the piggies. I'm currently working on him to let me bring them indoors for the winter.

I certainly can, I'm very picky who looks after my fur babies on the rare occasions we manage to get away and am completely happy and confident for Sandra to watch them for us :)

I'm very lucky that my hubbie Martin loves our boars as much as I do and is more than willing to help me clean and feed them :)

Yeah i bought my piggys with my ex, and we were both as crazy about them, my new boyfriend isn't though! This maybe something to do with the fact that as my split with my ex was very amicable, we still keep in touch and share joint custody of our piggys! this involves sending the other one pictures-ringing up to hear them squeak down the phone, and as we are 200 miles apart-i actually bought my ex a webcam so he can still see them! they stand all over the laptop sniffing the screen and looking around when he calls their names-they even have a facebook account and i write on his wall from the piggys! at the vets i registered them in both our names! and as i'm writing this i now completely understand why my new boyfriend thinks i'm totally nuts......its because I am! how sad do i look reading that back now?! ha ha! oh well-can't help loving the pigs!8:)

my hubby pretends he isnt interested but he is really. He really shocked me Friday night when we was at the vets with Charlie, he was in tears! 8...

oh so sorry the boyfriend is not a piggy fan.must be hard for you.my poor partner had no idea about any animals before he met me.I slowly got him used to the fact that guineas own our home(it started with one) I'm lucky he loves me and so we have a blurred line of support for me spending all our wedding money on pigs and having no choice lol

I find it's not just men that find it mad, people in general do. You get as far as 'aw aren't they sweet' then the questions on 'why so many?'
rolleyes
but everyone likes it when pigs run up to them squeaking, it sounds like they want love, but they just want food:laluot_03:

Thank goodness I don't have a man! My piggies and cats get all my attention and I have no-one to fight over them with. I probably bore everyone to death talking about them all all the time - but I have to listen to them talking about their human children! :)

My dad wasnt an animal fan but when i got my rabbit and piggy a good 15 years ago he gave up his shed, made a room divider, hatches so they could go outside and an 8ft x 6ft pen for them to run around in...:)
he didnt look after them or handle them or bothered about them but he did his bit...
Although at the same time we had a 25ft garage and workshop built so maybe he got the better deal...Hmmmmmm {:|

My OH loves the pigs as much as me and often comes in with bags of herbs, grass and the like...he helps me with them loads too!

My hubby pretends not to be that bothered, but every now an then he slips up and starts cooing at them (not a good lier:)))

He was reluctant at first, but now my husband spoils them as much as I do!

He's been completely smitten from the very first time he held The Doctor, and protested that he "couldn't just leave him there!" when I came home later to find that one of the piggies we were supposed to be rescuing had been bought from a pet shop.
