i will be finding out soon if my guinea pig is pregnant , i hope to be keeping one of them depending how many there is but if one is a boy, i havent got enough room for two seprate cages ( i have a temporary cage but it cant stay there forever due to space ) , so at what age is it good/safe to castrate ?
if she isn't pregnant and i buy another piggy it will also need to be castrated to live with my girl :) (thats if i dont get all girls or buy a girl ) just trying to think of all the outcomes lol x

you would need another cage for a boy because they can get females pregnant from 3/4 weeks and can't be castrated until they are at least 3/4 months but 6 months is preferable and then they need to be kept separate for another 6 weeks after the op

the best thing to do is to find a vet with good guinea pig knowledge and plenty of castration knowledge

I personally, would just get my piggy a girl friend :)

You can always contact your nearest rescue; single baby boys are always welcome as companions for older boars.

It is better being practical and thinking about it now, especially when you are limited on space, so you don't bond too deeply with any baby you can't keep with a good conscience.

I had to rehome my two surprise baby girls when they were born in the middle of us being constantly up and down from Wales on account of my mother-in-law's being very badly. It was very hard to let the babies go, but at that moment in time we simply couldn't keep them and give them the home they deserved.
As heartbreaking as it is, I would do the same again, because my piggies' happiness comes before my own!

Remember that three piggies together need a cage of 2x5 ft!

am i right in thinking that for evry extra piggies * need one extra foot ? if i was to buy a nother one i think i would just go for a girl . but if she only has one baby and its a boy then i could keep it, then think about getting it castrated, is 3/4 months a bit dangerous to do it then ? x

3/4 months does hold a higher risk but some vets with experience are willing to do it, but it isn't really recommended xx

thanks :) ill just have to keep them seprate for 6 months then if theres only one boy , ill just have to rearrange a few things. thanks for the help xx
