Bramble piggy

It's not been my year for piggies I got Bramble in 2005 from Thistle Cavies and coincidentally she was born on my birthday.

I'd cleaned out the pigs on Sunday and they were all fine. Monday I was off work sick and only had the energy to give them a quick spot clean and feed them. Tuesday I picked her up to find her with a lump about the size of two golf balls under her neck. Rushed her to the vet where she drained a ton of it off but wanted her to have it lanced/removed under anaesthetic the next day because Bramble was becoming distressed from the manhandling.

She got through it fine, they managed to remove the lot. They were so happy with her and she was eating and drinking, I was told to call to find out when I could take her home. I called at lunchtime only to be told they had found her dead. I'm pretty upset, not only was it quite a straightforward op but they forgot to bother phoning me to tell me she had died. So I'm both upset and angry and haven't brought myself to go and pay the bill yet for fear of what I might say to them :x.

Maybe write a letter when you feel you can to your vets and let them know how upset you are for not being told about your darling piggy I think it is very disrespectfull of them
I had a vaccination reminder from my vet for Snoopy bunny not long after she passed away, she even passed away at the vets, believe me, they got a letter explaining my upset

I am so sorry for you and poor Brambles. Especially as I know how upsetting and terrifying a lump like that is from when it happened to my Mischief, who incidentally could have been a sister of Bramble's. Sadly, she she didn't make it either... But it brought back all those memories and I had a bit of a cry. 8...

The fact that you were not informed immediately when Brambles was found dead must be so hurtful indeed under the circumstances! The suspense and worry is nearly killing you anyway; and the shock is still sitting deep in your bones from finding that huge lump in the first place. You feel so betrayed that you couldn't be with her AND DIDN'T EVEN KNOW!

Take care of yourself now and give all your piggies a big cuddle for consolation.

Oh Lorna, I'm so sorry for your loss. I saw her name and thought, "Not Lorna's Bramble!". I'm very sad to hear she has gone. I remember when you got her, it was fairly soon after Bracken passed wasn't it? So sad.
