I noticed that young blackberry leaves/shoots were on the list of things that are OK to feed so when I found a bramble in my garden earlier I snipped off some new growth and put it by for the pigs.

But its thorny. Do they cope? I know horses manage thistles and all sorts and we're just weak and feeble humans - but do piggies cope OK with the prickles?

if you cut the tops 2 to3".of new growth you will find the throns are green and very soft.

When I go out foraging I only pick the leaves from the bramble bushes for my piggies. They LOVE hazel leaves too. Not tried them with anything else as I have a copse near me that has loads of hazel leaves and at the mo they are nice and fresh as it is new growth.:)
