Well I am so happy right now xx>>> I just had a major breakthrough with Google!
Let me fill you in - 3 weeks ago I rehomed 2 2-3year old boars who were unwanted. A pink eyed Ginger called Google and a black and ginger called Jeeves. Both were very skittish and frightened of me but jeeves quickly caught on that I = food. With the help of this forum I was quickly able to handle Jeeves and he was quite happy to eat carrot tops and whatever else I offered him from my hand.
Google, however, was very very timid. If I so much as offered a leaf in his direction he shot off into a wild panic. He would never eat from my hand and screamed if I attemped to handle him. I had tons of advice from here about persisting with handling, using a towel, keep associating yourself with food, talking gently and it seems to be paying off.
This afternoon I have had both Google and Jeeves on my knee, wrapped in a towel and Google has even been eating the broccoli I offered him! I am so so happy. I didn't think he was ever going to calm down enough to actually eat from my hand. x):rose^):<>
So thank you guys so much - and thank you for the boars dominance sticky. Jeeves has been displaying normal boar behaviour towards Google and I was worried until I read up that it was absolutely normal so thank you x>>
