This guy has probably 50 guinea pigs in his house and he is breeding them for money. His pigs live in this condition:

Also he has been breeding pigs which are more than 6 months old. He reported trying to breed this one at 6 months and when she couldn't get pregnant, he continued to try until she got pregnant at 8 months' old! Plus it was her first litter....

Look at how the poor mother pig had to give birth on wire flooring :( I had flagged it and left a comment there...

He came from Singapore.

If you think this is bad, wait till you see his blog. He has been pairing ''rare' guinea pigs with one another, irregardless of the abnormalities that might result, just because his customers tend to ask for breed such as Texel, Sheba, etc. This guy claimed to be breeding for hobby (which is already wrong to begin with!) but is just concerned about money, period.

To make things worse, his blog is quite well known and people tend to think of him as someone who is very knowledgeable when it comes to caring for guinea pigs and have been seeking advice from him. According to him, this type of cage is 'spacious', 'cheap' and 'affordable'. It definitely gives the wrong idea to his customers that guinea pigs are some sort of cheap pets which will not cost a lot, except for the initial hundred bucks they had to pay him.

:( that is horrible people have no hearts i couldnt even click on the video i am no expert on this can anything be done to stop him?

I've come across his site before - needless to say I was not at all happy with his conditions or attitude - he's been on another forum showing off his set up as he seems immensely proud of himself and completely ignored all suggestions and pleading to make changes.

Considering 25 pairs of breeders (And I'm sure there'll always be more females but let's keep it as 1:1 ratio for gender). In 2 months (Gestation period), with an average of 3 pigs/ litter, he'll have 75 babies born.

Is there some way that whee can all band together and report him that will actually get thru to the authorities?
Rilenceny you may know the system better........... do you suggest anything?
If whee can save a few of these poor little ones....... :...
this is just disgusting :)>>>8...8...8...

I saw that Glynis! ThanksQ tons! (And to be OT: I added you "))

I couldn't bring myself to look at the video, it would upset me too much. I have liked and commented on FB. I hope the SPCA does something about this.

I have liked and given a big rant on there too, absolutely disgusting!

OMG that is just shocking! Those poor piggies, if their little legs go through them bars they could be broken. Are people really that ignorant, or just stupid.malletheadgrrrr

JESUS CHRIST!! :)>>>

This stuff makes me so upset and angry, I'm not aggressive but this makes me want to inflict harm on HIM! How about we squash him into a tony cage for say, 12 months? see how he likes it?

I hope someone does something, this SHOULD NOT be allowed to continue!

I have liked the page too!

(((((((((((( YES REPORT THEM TO ANIMAL WELFARE IMMEDIATELY )))))))))

WICKED ooooh it makes me mad

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the concerns shown on those poor pigs!

We've been informed kindly by SPCA that they'll be looking into the matter!
Hopefully the guy will get fined and his pigs all confiscated, neutered/spayed and would be up for proper homes in no times!

Perhaps he should be left to run around in a plastic tub on his own poop and see how he likes it...

Those cages things are tiny :( How do they not just jump out though?

But breeding at 6 - 8 months is fine.

But I don't think the SPCA could do anything about it. I mean, at least the cagse are clean (in the pics) and he seems to be a hobby breeder, not a mass breeder. There are a lot worse breeders out there.

I still don't like this, but it's not the worst . . .

What's the difference between a mass breeder and a hobby breeder? This breeder is selling off the babies and earning a profit from it.

They could have jumped out before and tumbled to their death, but I do not think he is going to reveal that information in his little business blog. Wouldn't make a very good impression on would-be buyers, would it?

Breeding is never fine to begin with. First, there are already so many unwanted cavies residing in rescues and I do not see the point of adding to the population when we could adopt and rescue those pigs first. Second, one in every 5 sows is killed due to complications from breeding. I wonder how many of his sows have been killed during the process.http://www.cavyspirit.com/breeding.htm

Sorry CiaraPatricia - To me, he has so many babies for sale every single month and I'm sure he's more of a mass breeder. If he's just a hobbyist, I won't be so fedup about him.

Tell me about it - Improper diet, improper housing - How's it a hobbyist breeder?

To me, anyone breeding and selling babies every single months are considered mass breeders whom breed with only moneys in their mind.

That is ridiculous! Urrghh.. I want to knock him out! pow-powpow-pow

There must be something you can do?!?! :... :...

Isabella, Tallulah, Penelope & Lily.
