Sadly my lovely gentle Briallen 'Primrose' has slipped away very quietly in her forever sleep sometime on Tuesday afternoon without any indication that anything was amiss.

Briallen was a badly traumatised and no longer wanted ex-toddler's single pet. Not surprisingly she had a real thing about hands although she came to trust me implicitly over time. But she always found any handling very stressful.

I had adopted Briallen and Heini in Summer 2015 as Carwyn's promised young wives after the old lady he had initially been looking after had passed away. Since it was love on first sight between Carwyn and baby Heini Briallen was somewhat left out, especially once she had got over her initial fear of other piggies and started interacting with them better.

(Briallen with Carwyn and sister pair Hapus and Llawen with his favourite Heini on the right - the grouping says it all!)

Briallen's great love however became Barri, who introduced himself in June 2017; the two loved nothing better than sleeping together in the hay tray!

Patient and totally non-aggressive Briallen was my go-to piggy with any squabbling and fallen-out social headache girls.
Both Hapus and Llawen but also Miaren and Meleri have lived with her and Barri at times and in varying combinations (sadly bonding them all into one big group didn't work out!)

(Picture from the bonding attempt with the two sister pairs - sadly it went quickly downhill soon afterwards)
Finding 'social enabler' piggies like her that get on with virtually every piggy is rare. I truly treasure mine - and have very much treasured Briallen. She has grown into such a wonderful lady over the years!

Brially has just celebrated her 5th birthday this month.

She is one of the piggies I am going to miss really badly!

PS: She was one of my adoptees where I left the choice to the rescue, in this case The Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue.
