Hensa
Junior Guinea Pig
Yesterday when I was out for the day I got a call from my daughter to say there was blood in Poppys and Peaches cage. She took them to the vet and after the journey there was more bright red spots in the carrier. The vet thinks it is an UTI and wants to start antibiotics but not until they have been separated to find out which one has the infection. It has now been 24 hours since then and there is still no sign of who it is. (I am using Fitch so any red should be easy to see.) Later I might go and buy plastic containers large enough to put them and catch urine samples as in the recommendation here (our carrier is fabric so I can’t use that).
They are both eating and drinking. Has anyone got any suggestions or advice? I don’t like the idea of a UTI going untreated for much longer.
