As advised @sport_billy , I have another thread, hope this is okay here.
I have here the first pictures of my little squeak bundles. Already I believe Apple is quite the little gannet, where as Myrtle seems more occupied with licking my jumper. A warm sentiment I suppose.
I will update with my piggies first experience of fleeced articles! But for now just pictures.

Thank you to the welcomes @MerryPip , @5littlepigs , @helen105281 , @Chief Guinea Pig
And of course a shout out to my sister, @yayitsbeth

Here we have on left the lovely two toned gingerbread and white Myrtle, this picture shows off her dorsal fin (what we like to call the little fluff ridge along her back). She is accompanied by Apple on right, tricoloured little fluff.

Here we have he girls having a morning snack, as they are partial to some mixed veggies. And yes I have read threads on appropriate veggies so fear not the girls will receive a well balanced diet.

Here we have a close up of morning snacks with Apple and Myrtle. These ladies are not camera shy!

Apple has just discovered that Myrtle is soft! And she will be the most perfect cushion for Apple.

Once again yesterday evening, Apple has resumed her favourite resting position, on top of Myrtle. Her companion does not seemed bothered by this and was far too occupied with trying to untread my blanket. Her investigation continued until she had made a nice little hole.

We also have their first fleecesperience!

A cuddle cup made by my wonderful sister, and the girls managed to kick quite a few wood shavings into it as well! They seemed pleased with themselves as they settled for an afternoon cuddle. 12063993_10154298781244517_344492123_n.webp 12166720_10154298781214517_274110661_n.webp

I have been a little suspicious of Myrtle, she has taken to eating bedding straw and wood shavings instead of feed hay.... This puzzles me, however I am sure she finds them most delicious.

Next projects to be pictured is the cuddle couch I have made, and the current piggyurt, that I am making for my sister's boys :)

Wheek Wheek for now!

They are both beautiful. They look really young.
Thank you! :)
When I bought them I was told they were 8 or 9 weeks. I did worry as they were quite small, but they were not with mothers in a group, already in a small girl group.
Currently according to what I was told they should be 10-11 weeks old now.

Aww it's lovely that they enjoy snuggling up to each other! Mine don't do that :p occasionally a couple of them can tolerate sitting side by side in a house but that's about it!

Yes, mine don't cuddle up to each other either, though they always want to be near one another.
Such lovely photos, and I enjoyed your commentary too. They already look very relaxed and settled in, which is really good. Happy lovely piggies!

OMG they are far too gorgeous

Look at those little feeties in the last photo

A Fleecy Update

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments! They all mean a lot. Little Apple and Myrtle have been squeaking and chattering away and are becoming more confident every day. Some of Myrtle's exploits are a tad.... Different. For example she would fly into the fleecy cove having completed her routine pig race about the cage, upon entrance a small bout of popcorning ensues followed by her charging into the depth of the fleecy forest. I hid some carrot in The Cove to encourage them to sit in it, Apple seemed to follow my thinking and used her fluff to cover the carrot. She is most cunning when it comes to hoarding food. Myrtle has also taken to fleece tugging, perhaps she is inspecting my wonky hand stitching and planning on helping me suggest it. Although her investigation is sometimes a little heavy handed, in fact sometimes it looks like she is finding enjoyment in pulling out the hand stitching... Surely not, but every now and then there is that glint in her mischievous little eyes.... I will have to keep a watch to report back . :hmm:

@Melanie07 , @Critter , thank you I feel lucky to have them so friendly. When I hold them I tend to cuddle them together and have some dandelion leaves or carrot peelings for them both to share to encourage food sharing and cuddling, they seemed naturally content to sleep together so I think I got lucky. Well Apple occasionally views Myrtle as some form of soft furnishing and uses her frequently as a cushion. Myrtle doesn't seem to mind, she gets a bit fidgety if Apple tries to hide underneath her, but other than that they are quite content.

As promised everyone, this PigMother has photos of her fleecy inventions, of course the inspiration came from many of the posts on here, I just fancied a go at making them.

First I have my latest project, the Piggyyurt that will be for my sister's boys. It will have an additional side panel and two entrance points, the base I will pad out too so they have a cushty yurt.

Here is a complete picture of Apple and Myrtle's home, I went classic CC 4 by 2 but I have two additional grids as I'm debating an upstairs. Fleecy forest donated by the lovely sister @yayitsbeth .

image.webp

Here I have the fleecy cuddle couch, there is a base and the cushion seat is detached for me to de-woods having it as it seems to be the girls personal goal to fill it with wood shavings. There is a cardboard roll just propped underneath the front as they are still quite small and its a large couch.

image.webp

This picture below is of their cardboard crate, currently called "The Toy Box". They're both currently huddle in there. At the start I didn't want the large space to scare them, so they were in a 2 by 2 for the first week, with straw, hay, food pellets and a bowl of water all near the entrance of the ToyBox. They were so little I didn't want them to panic, or not find the water bottle, which was there as well. After the first week they had the full space to run and seemed more curious of all the space having settled.

Now here we have a new creation. This is the above mention Fleecy Cuddle Cove. It is a piece of crocheted work my sister made as a par active. It is suspended so they can hide underneath it and push around it, it has a fleecy pad in the base and the girls seem to love it.

And seen here little Myrtle has taken up residence in The Cove. She had paused mid lap of her cage to have a photo taken, most considerate. Also the crumpled item underneath is their little cuddlecup pouch, which I need to cleanup and reposition as they have turned it into messy nest.

Thanks for all then support so far, and hope you all enjoy the new pictures,
PigMother out!
Wheek!

:D Aaaww two adorable little tufty ladies spoilt rotten! And why not?! Why not use your two spare grids to make the cage into a 3 X 4? Most piggies prefer more horizontal space rather than vertical.

I'm loving the detail in your posts, shows you've spent loads of time and invested a lot of thought into doing the best for them, and are getting ton know their little ways and habits well. They certainly have a very stimulating and comfortable environment too. These two are going to be very spoiled and very happy piggies! @Yaytsbeth 's crochet-work is lovely. I used to crochet, and made blankets just like the one covering up the 'toy box', but I have forgotten how now! tee hee. I love the Cove, and obviously so does Myrtle.
That's a very comfy-looking settee you've made for them. I hope Myrtle doesn't inspect it too vigorously, the little tinker! It's great watching them hurtle around and climb in and out of their hidies, or just looking all blissed out, knowing they're content. Hurtle-Myrtle! :) There's a lymeric in there somewhere.....
Apple seems a wise little piggy, making sure she keeps her veggie treats :)
Looking forward to seeing your Yurt. Apple and Myrtle's Yurtle! I really like to see home-made or customised designs.

I have a suggestion, being as you have the fleecy items so are putting the washing machine on for them at times, why not go the whole way and give them a fleece floor-covering? It may save you some mess. Wood shavings can be a devil to brush off from fleece cosies :) x

Thank you for the lovely post! I love the lymerics, and yes I am considering going full fleece flooring. It is definitely a reoccurring thought.

A very brief update

Here we have a working progress, however the fleecy yurt seems to be transforming into a mangled circus tent/arena. But I will endeavour to see it through, whatever 'it' may be at the finish.

Another update from PigMother

I have completed the crazy Piggyyurt/circus tent. And pictures will be up soon, but first my girlies.
Apple has taken to squeaking whenever I walk into the room, I like to tell myself it's because she is welcoming me back, though it might be to ward off intruders that mean to steal her food.... That's less cute.
Myrtle is definitely getting braver, alas she still eats woodshavings, something I have become accustomed to now. I have them their little chew balls and the thin willow one I poked grass and alfalfa hay into thinking it would be a good activity for them to chew to get their treats. This kind of happened, as myrtle found that if she lifted her head up she could carry the ball, she then took to charging round her home with her prize, whether she has realised there is food inside is another matter. But either way at least she is trying.
It seems to be that Apple sleeps in the cuddle cove and Myrtle just uses it as a launch pad for the beginning of her race around the home.

Another update is that my two little girlies, seemed to be a tad confused. At first Myrtle was rumbling, swaying her little fin all round the room, followed by Apple having a little purr and then getting a bit rumpy pumpy with Myrtle, mainly her face, followed by Myrtle trying to return the affection for Apple. It seems they have reached those experimental college years, oh dear my babies are growing up.

Here we have them in a little cuddle too, Apple was holding my hand! Also my girls looooove their selfies.

Piggyyurt update!

Back to the yurt!
I built it with the same material we have for the base of their cages, and then lined it with felt, I made the felt cushion pad for inside and then used a blue material for the outside. For the roof it was a octagonal shape with little fleecy panels and I stitched wire in to hold the roof up so there is plenty of space. It does look a little clumsy.

image.webp image.webp image.webp

image.webp

I then had the issue of trying to get the cushion isnide the tiny entrance....hmmm... I have a predicament.
image.webp

And then the finished result! Ta daaaaa!!
Their will be pics of my sister's little boys enjoying up soon. @yayitsbeth
