Broccoli

Hi

How do you feed Broccoli to piggies does it have to be cooked or can they have it raw? Also is green pepper ok? They love red peppers but I wasn't sure about green.

Broccolli and bell peppers are fine to feed. They should all be fed raw

I was told by the rescue I got my youngest from not to fee too much broccoli stalk as it is high in calcium which causes bladder stones, a little is ok but feed mainly the tops

The flower part is rich in Vitamin C though so I gave some to Rodney regularly, he also liked the leaves from the stalks.

It can also cause bloat in large quantities apparently, so dont think you should give them lots.

You can feed broccoli raw but you should limit the amount of cruciferous veg (broccoli) you feed as it is high in calcium and can cause illness. A small amount of the broccoli stalk or a small floret once a week at most. Once every two weeks as a treat would be better.
