Broken Bottom Teeth

my male snowy had a broken tooth at the bottom, took him vets on Thursday and while there noticed the other one had broken off too! The vet said he was fine and as not lost much weight (67grams from previous weight a week prior) jaw etc fine no lumps, didn’t seem in pain and they will grow back soon. He’s struggling to eat hay as he can’t seem to pick it up.. I’ve cut all his vegs into half cm cubes and feed him separately from my other two. He will eat grass as it’s softer than the hay and can pick it up easier. He’s still eating his pellets as they’re the burgess ones and really small. He’s still pooing but it’s darker and harder but the same size as normal. Anything else I should be doing? He’s 3 years old. He weighs the same as Thursday and I’m weighing him daily TIA

The teeth should be growing back within a matter of a week or two, depending on how far down the break is. During that time, pick up and cutting food is not working. You may want to cut veg into strips, offer additional syringe feed (to make up for the hay that is not eaten, considering it makes around 80% of daily food intake). You can also offer a bit more mushed up pellets during that time.
 
Thankyou, they have broken literally right down to the bottom. I’m going back to the vet in two weeks for another check x I’ll keep you updated. In the meantime until they grow back a bit I’ll top him up with critical care
 
Critical care disaster! Syringe feeding ends up with more feed in my hair on my clothes anywhere but in his mouth! Then I realised he will take it from a plastic spoon instead of fighting with the syringe . Lesson learned.
