Broken Nail?

While sitting with Chewbacca during some browsing of the internet, I noticed something strange on his right nail. At first glance I thought it was hair, but on closer inspection I came to the conclusion that it was either broken, or a peice of cardboard dried up on his toe. Any ideas? He did have his nails cut last week, and he is really fussy when it come to things like that. It may have been when I was cutting his nails? A possibility?

@ChewbaccaBear Can you give his foot a quick wash, or wipe with a wet piece of cotton wool to see if it comes off? It looks like something stuck on it to me.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I did end up washing it off. It ended up as a peice of lint was wrapped around
