Hello all, my little 4 month old Pip didn't seem to be able to eat the celery I was holding out for her properly which made me a bit suspicious. Upon inspection, her left top tooth has broken and was probably about 4mm long! I presumed it was an accident from maybe chewing their willow bridge or something, but just incase I took her to the vets. The vet noticed her other top tooth was wobbly and broken right up at the gum and pulled it out with triceps there and then. now my little one has no top teeth until they grow back :no::no::no::no: does anyone have any tips on what to feed her? and possibly know how long it will take for them to grown back?

There is a really good page on the Guinea Pig Lynx website on broken teeth, it shows you photos of week by week of how the teeth grow back. My Bill lost an incisor earlier this year and it grew back fine.the lower tooth will grow longer until it meets the top tooth and yet will eventually wear against each other and even out. Check out the link below

Hi! Broken incisors thankfully grow back quickly. Wobbly teeth should be vet checked in case there is damage to the gums. The teeth themselves are about 4 cm long (1 1/2 inch) and have their roots way back just before the molars.

Incisors have the job of picking up and cutting food, so you may want to grate your veg, serve softer veg and if necessary offer mushed up pellets and chopped hay at first. Switch from weighing weekly to weighing daily at the same time to make sure that the food intake is adequate during this time.
