Hi guys,

So what are the thoughts on this, was doing the usual rounds of nail clipping and found that Flossie has either broken her toe or something.

Can `i have your thoughts, i can get down to the vets tomorrow as i'm ill myself with a stinking cold.
But having some kind of reassurance as i've not suffered this problem before would be great.

Thank you

Poor Flossie, I would definitely take her to the vets tomorrow. Looks like her nail is coming off from the photo but the toe looks swollen so maybe broken too? Hugs to you both and hope you both get better very soon.

Thank you so much, it is swollen so am going to bathe it in salt water, boiled & cooled. and will get her to the vets, she's curled up on my lap at the moment. so she's getting extra love.

Bless her. That toe will be sore for a while. I dropped a heavy saucepan on my toe once, it took months for the nail to come off and a year to grow back so Flossie has my sympathy

Oh, poor girlie. Wonder what on earth she's been doing? Hope the vets can sort it for her quickly.

It looks as though she may just have caught her nail in something - it's obviously sore, but it seems that it's the nail at an angle rather than the toe itself. At least it looks like it will mend, even if it takes a while.

@piggieminder - I have had a black toenail and didn't realise it might take a year to grow back :yikes:

Ouch that does not look very comftable at all poor little flossie, if you have any pain killers in stock it might be worth giving her a very small dose to keep her more comftable overnight till you see the vet tomorrow, I hope they can do something to sort her out, let us know how you get on X
Hope you feel better as well drink lots and rest up

Thanks all, I always have some pain killers in the piggie medicine cabinet so gave her a dose of Baytril last night to settle her down.
So vet visit confirmed she's given it a big knock and it's swollen more, there is good blood supply so she's now Baytril twice daily an a daily bathing.

The only issue I had was that tomorrow, i'm off to Goodwood for several days and my neighbour normally looks after them for me, she's got quite attached however is not that savy to give medication, so a big thanks to Debbie @TEAS whose going to care for Flossie who'll be accompanied by my favourite boy Captain Jack (my avatar).

Here's my little girl having cuddle time last night.

Aw poor girlie. But how lovely that she and Jack are off to TEAS for a jolly. Hope she feels better very soon.
