We took Bronwen on a date tonight to a local rescue to see if she would accept a new companion. We were all a bit nervous but hoped that the weeks since Crempog, our beautiful little girl, passed away would mean that Bronwen would welcome a new pal.

The good news is that we have brought home a beautiful Rex piggy (name to be decided as we want to make sure she suits it- -it will be Welsh though!) and, so far, Bronwen is loving her little mate, giving her little kisses and having little chats.

Hopefully, pictures of a beautiful friendship to follow soon. I am so happy it has gone well so far.

Argh I LOVE rex's. The perfect pet. Always. Looking forward to pix sounds great! Xx

Great news! Letting your piggy make the ultimate choice usually means a good friendship. You will get some inevitable dominance display until the hierachy is firmly established, but hopefully, it is short and mild.

It's offiicial, her name is Eira (Welsh for Snow or snowy).
In general they seem to be getting on ok..or maybe Bronwen is tolerating Eira though she has periods of squeaking loudly when Eira follows her nose to bum (I think I would squeak if someone did that to me!) or even just brushes past her sometimes. Also, Eira sometimes runs up to Bronwen which B sometimes objects to. Other times, they can be seen lying down next to each other relaxing. I'm keeping a close eye on them and bringing them out for floortime every day as I don't want Bronwen to get stressed. I'm hoping this is just a bit of sorting out who is boss and there hasn't been any aggression. Fingers crossed piggy friends!
