Hi all,

We’re wondering if someone would be able to shed some light on a potential issue with our young boars.

Over the last week or so we’ve noticed small amounts of brown/dark liquid in the cage near where they go the toilet. I’ve read about urine oxidising and how it could be this wed just like to be double sure before we start booking vet appointments.

Ive attached a picture of the dried liquid, it’s worth noting that we’ve not noticed on ANY occasion wet dark liquid - it’s always dried.

Few things maybe worth noting:
- approaching/in the midst of adolescence
- roughly 3 months old
- both eating, drinking and pooping often and poops are looking healthy

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

Hi!

This rather looks like something poo connected to me.

Urine dries orangey to rusty in puddles but never brown.
For other 'boar stuff' see our boar guide; it is most white or light (dried 'boar glue' semen or occasionally smegma, which builds up around the penis): Boar Care: Bits, Bums & Baths
