my pig snowy is struggling to keep his eye open, it is watering and there is a brown goo substance sticking too the eye ball itself! Has any one got any clue what it may be?

Please have your piggy seen as soon as you can. The watering is a sign that there is a major irritation and potentially an injury to the eye.

You could try whether you could very gently wash the eye with boiled, cooled water or sterile water from the pharmacy. Rather dribble the water in with a syringe and slapping in on.

What could have caused this? Is it a common problem

I have no idea; that is why you should see a vet.
