Found this this morning in Sir Strudel's litter box. Is this something I should be worried about? I have been feeding him a spring mix which has a red lettuce in it, and romaine lettuce. He also gets 1/8th pellets. changed the box liner to a pee pad to see if it is just pee that was damp and oxidized or something else.

Strudel is eating and drinking well. loves his carrots and romaine.

Thanks everyone.

Don't worry; this is simply oxidised old pee. Pee tends to discolour to rusty tones when in contact with air; often the stronger the old the patch is.

Blood has got a slightly different specific weight to urine, so you either find it as small red splotches in the middle of a pee patch or as a reddish rim that is a different colour (not just a darker tone) of the same patch depending on the amount in it.
