My cousin texted me asking if she should bring her pigs in for winter as there was a light frost on the grass this morning ?/
Normally they don't come in until Half way through October but this September has been a lot colder

I texted back that I think she should.

She brings her pigs inside in winter and has them in the conservatory which has the heating on low over night so it does not drop below 14c so its relatively cool but not freezing like outside as it said 5c on her thermometer

She does spoil her piggles :p

We are having an early autumn this year. It is right to bring in the piggies now as the quick change in temperatures is making the piggies more vulnerable to disease.

I brought my boys in on Friday, as you can tell from my avatar they're also massive fluff balls but i felt bad that they were spending a lot of their time in bed just to stay warm. Very glad i brought them in; 7am Saturday was 3 degrees by the coop according to my dad.
I also didn't want to bring them in early as their coop is a lot bigger than their cage but if it keeps them warm and safe i doubt they're going to complain too much

Mine are outdoor piggies and have barely come of out their sleeping quarters this morning. There's a big untouched pile of dandelions in there! The poor things must be feeling the chill.

Time to winter-fy the hutch, I think!

My piggies are indoors and I know this sounds crazy but i've been worried they are cold at night. Their little ears felt a bit chilly this morning so will be putting heat pads in the cage from now on over night :red

If you have the facilities to bring them in then i'd do it now! If it warms up again then you can always give them some run time outside :)

I do the same, mainly as my mum turns the heating off over night, If we just turned the heating down overnight I would not be to worried

I've just got to finish clearing out my study room and get some extra grids and coroplast then all my pigs are coming in :) they're not having to be in the shed this year as its been converted for my OH's drum kit. I'm so happy he's finally agreed to let them all in from now on and not only the oldies!
