Hello,

I'm new to owning piggies and I'm hoping someone might be able answer a question for me. My wee Lily pig seems to have settled in great, her scabby ear has cleared up too :) She still doesn't like being picked up but we are working on that slowly.

She seems pretty happy, loads of popcorning, especially now I've changed to using fleece. What I'm wondering though is why she popcorns and makes a Brrrrrr noise at the same time? She makes this noise when I am stroking her sometimes and I thought it was a grumpy teeth chatter noise?

Thanks :)

hmm same time? i think i would take that as one very happy pig you got there lol. the chatter is when she alittle annoyed maybe theres an area she doesnt like to be stroked.

Thank you, that is a great help! It does sound like a rumble and goes on for ages. Slightly different from the noise she makes when I pick her up, which is definitely a teeth chattering noise :(

Hi I bought my Holly last Thursday to join my other 2 girls, but when we pick her up she grinds her teeth too, we thought she was angry at first but I've noticed she does this when she is sleeping and by herself, I think that some Guineas just grind their teeth like humans do?!

I was thinking that Lily was just a grumpy piggie! She also chatters her teeth if I make a loud, or actually any noise when she's resting. I think she just doesn't like being picked up or stroked while I'm holding her. She has rosette hair but even when I stroke it the right way she still chatters. Only time she doesn't is when I rub under her chin :)

lol thanks this answer my question I was going to ask about my girls being in season. They are rumble strutting (both of them), and are whinning at each ofther (getting grumpy vibes from them). Wonderful, they have synced with my cycle as I am decidedly grumpy and hormonal at the moment too!

They seem to chatter and whinge when being stroked. Sometimes it is mostly chattering/muttering and there is a definite wihnge in there as well, as if they are wondering where the treats are!

Brilliant link!
