Hi everyone,

Anyone use brushes for their guinea pigs?

I bought a soft bristle brush for them yesterday.

Freddie seemed to like it and stood still while I brushed him :(|)

Marmalade ran and hid in his tube, staring at the brush like I was wielding a lethal weapon!

I brush all my piggies with the Options (bordem breaker) set its lovely very theraputic for both the pigs and me! :)

^Have you always brushed them? Did they have to get used to it to begin with? :)

I started Harvey and Artie in the first few weeks of bring them home, and then continued to brush them once a week (they're both short haired)

Percy-Roo is brushed twice daily, but hates his back end brushed as when he was handed into the rescue he was covered in knots and matts at the backend.

Tabby hasn't been brushed yet, as shes just getting used to being handled. :)

Harvey and Artie, as babies, enjoying their grooming session!

^Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww sweeties!

Hopefully Marmalade will come round when he's on my lap and I brush him, rather than a big brush head being thrust into the hutch like a scary monster - hahahaha

Lovely pictures Audioheart.
This is a very good question to ask, I use Options mini. They just stand still while I brush them. It removes lots of loose hair.

I groom mine once a week, maybe a bit less sometimes, it just depends.
All mine need grooming except one short haired one that can get away with a quick brush now and then rolleyes
I have along haired piggy,a short haired one, a rex/teddy cross and a lunkarya.
I use these http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/guinea...cDPfxIrYzUvEu76RzzM6wutKTeo9AOCB tDs76aYYKg==

They are the same as the 'options' kit but cheaper, i bought my options kit for £8.99 in a local pet supplies place then went in wilkos and saw these, typical lol

I do not brush my piggies as it seems to be fine just stroking them. They have short hair though.

Thanx everyone for your posts.

When Marmalade was sat on my lap he decided he loved the brushing! :)

It does seem to relax them - a bit like a massage I guess.
