Bubble up

Oh dear.... I pressed submit before I'd finished!
And now it won't let me edit it!

Anyway... Bubble took a turn for the worse earlier and she could not stand up... She constantly kept falling onto her side unable to stand. We phoned the vets and they said bring her straight in. We discovered that she is now half the weight she used to be at only 500 grams! The vet seems to think she has a chest infection so she has given us some antibiotics and critical care. As well as a fluid injection. She can't get enough of the critical care though and was standing in the bowl to get more! She's now munching on a carrot so that's a good sign. We've been advised to keep her separate from squeak so we can monitor her eating although at the moment she's on my lap because I'm unsure if she can stand yet.

Oh bless her, sounds like a vit C deficiency, (scurvy) with the not being able to stand, especially if she hasn't really been eating.

Healing vibes to Bubble. x

Aww, poor Bubble :( I'm afraid I don't have any advise but I hope she feels better soon.

If you do separate, make sure you have them side by side so they can still see and talk to one another xx

Ill try but I'm really not sure what I can use to separate the hutch in two to be honest....

Unless you keep them together but watch them when you feed them veggies? you could give them separate plates and if Squeak tries to eat Bubbles share, you could remove Squeak whilst Bubble eats?

I am really sorry to hear how poorly Bubbles is. I really hope Bubble gets well soon.

We've put a sheet of wood in the hutch as a divider... It will help us see exactly what she's eating and she can't run around too much so that should help her recover. They can still hear and smell each other but once bubble starts to improve a bit I will get them out together for cuddles.

Poor Bubble, I hope she gets better soon. It good she likes the CC and is eating her veg. Hopefully this will keep her strength up

Oh poor bubble, hope he's soon feeling better :)
Whenever I have had to separate piggies I have modified the hutch and run by putting a removable wire mesh panel in hutch and a chicken wire frame in the run. They don't seem to mind as they can still interact as normal, I usually swap ends daily too, they don't get protective over a certain area and healthy poops can be eaten by poorly piggy too.
Healing vibes from the girls and I. x>>

She just seems really tired now so I've left her to sleep for a bit.. She's so tired that she even fell asleep on my lap! Poor baby! :(

She seems to have gained a bit of weight since yesterday which is a good sign but she still is a very poorly girly. :( She's taking her medicine and critical care really well bless her... She's very slow at eating still though!

Whenever I have a poorly pig I sit them on the sofa with me to have their veggies seperately so I can see how much they are eating. It can be stressful if they are away from their friend which doesn't help when they're already poorly. I hope she gets well soon.

Yeah she's currently separated from squeak so we can monitor her eating but they can still hear and smell each other and I will get them out together later

Just to let you know that we woke up this morning to find that bubble had passed away during the night.. Night night baby girl xx I love you

So sorry about Bubble :( I hope you are ok x
