Bugs in food bowl

Recently I’ve been noticing a lot of bugs are in my guinea pig’s food bowl. I don’t know if is it because bugs are attached to pet’s food or the smell of the cage. But it is really concerning because I’m scared they might crawl on my piggies. And the bugs know to only come out during the night like 2-4AM.
Any tips would be appreciated!
 
Hi, ideally you should only be feeding as much veggies and pellets as your piggies will eat in one go, then removing the bowls and any leftover food. The rest of the time the piggies should be grazing on unlimited piles of hay, which forms 80% of their diet.
This along with perhaps more frequent spot cleans to pick up poops every day should help.
 
:agr: Are they indoor or outdoor? And how often do you clean them out?
