About 3 days ago while i was brushing her fur i noticed some black dots on the middle of a few hairs i grabbed. The next day i checked again and half of her fur was full with little black dots.I doubt she's that dirty. What kind of a parasite is that?:x And what should i do?Can i deal with the problem witohut taking he to a vet?

Funny, I currently have a white Gwenivere who also has this! It sounds like lice - they can be running lice (in which case you see them wriggling) or static lice (not moving, clinging to the hair shafts). They can be white, brown or black, and tend to be transferred to the pig from the hay.

An antiparasitic shampoo (Fleaordie, or Lice N Easy from www.gorgeousguineas.com) combined with a combing with a nit comb tends to be the best treatment to get rid of them. Using conditioner after shampooing is also beneficial to prevent the lice holding onto the hair - Gorgeous Guineas sell piggie conditioners, though some human conditioners can be used. A spot on product called Advantage can also be used, but isn't as easy to get hold of as the shampoos.

It is very treatable at home as long as you are confident with any advice you receive and with the treatment products you have got. If you are at all unsure, check with a guinea pig experienced vet.

Welcome to the forum. :)
