Bugsy collapsed in his cage last night and I had to take him to the vet. She put him on oxygen and a heat pad but said she didn't think it looked very good, after about 10 minutes she said his heartbeat was weak and irregular and it would be kinder to send him for his forever sleep and with a heavy heart I let her put him to sleep in my arms. She said he had gone into circulatory distress due to either an infection or a problem with his heart.

sorry for your loss. It's really distressing to have to make that decision but it was the right one in the circumstances. Hugs x
 
So sorry. You were with him at the end. He would have taken comfort from that.

I am so sorry; it must have been so upsetting for you!

Thankfully Bugsy could leave, carried by the wings of your love. That was a last big gift you could give him.

Thank you everyone - I still miss him loads, it's hard to walk round the house and not hear him shouting out for someone to go give him some fuss and maybe some extra food.
 
I'm so sorry for your loss. Something similar happened to my Fred on Monday. RIP Bugsy. X
