So poor old Bumble had a bulge where he shouldn't have ( 2 weeks ago he also had a bulge where he shouldn't have - one of his testicles had retracted into the abdomen and refused to come down again) - but this was different - he has had so many operations that his abdominal wall has weakened and his bladder is now made up of mostly scar tissue and he now has a hernia - this was always a possibility, so I spent all of last night crying thinking he would have to be put to sleep and I had to wait until this evening until Rachel came on duty and could examine him for me - when I asked if it was the end of the road for him she just laughed and said not yet "I am going to operate on him in the morning" - a small incision to the side and she will put some mesh in as the tissue is probably too weak stitch - she didn't have any operating time left tonight to do it as she had to perform emergency surgery on a sugar glider and a snake .

Good grief, but sounds as if Rachel has a good plan so hang onto that. The mesh stuff is clever kit. And u will be slick at post op care by now! But worrying times for u. Come on Bumble.

good luck bumble . All fingers n paws crossed here for u- speedy recovery
Xx

Gosh what a trooper! All the best!

Dear all - my baby lion came through the op and was up and about eating, but later on when he was checked on, it was found that the abdominal wall just couldn't hold - Rachel went in again, but due to the number of previous surgeries and the amount of scar tissue and adhesion's ,there was not much she else she could do - she did do another repair but she could not revive him -
I have buried him in between my first piggy Noodles and his wife Bee who passed two months ago - It still hasn't sunk in and I can't accept that he has gone yet.
