Adult Guinea Pig
Bumble came through his hernia surgery and was up and about eating and pooping afterwards.However later on in the day the abdomen wall ruptured and despite Rachel going in again nothing would hold due to the amount of scar tissue and adhesion's from his previous surgeries so he went to the bridge pain free as he had had a big dose of opiates after his operation which I am grateful for.
I couldn't take in what Rachel was saying when she said he had passed 10 mins before I got there and I started crying and babbling about how I now had his 6 year old wife left who would want company and a 6 1/2 year old independent sow who has been happy on her own and would probably be going to the bridge shortly herself and how I now needed 2 baby Abyssinian girls to keep Bumbles wife happy so that when she goes there wouldn't be one piggy left again - I felt like I had been hit by a bus.
Rachel herself keeps piggies (she has 28 pets) and she has told me in the past that she keeps the generation going from her original pair she had many years ago (please forgive the breeding reference but this is a bit of an exception ) - one sow from each generation is allowed one litter,then Rachel spays her (she spays all her sows for preventative health reasons ) so the original line is kept going - Rachel keeps them all - they are not sold or shown - she turned round to me and said she knows its early days for me,but if I would like she would let me have two of the baby girls (if mummy pig has girls ) because I am one of the very few people she would trust to look after them - she said she would scan mummy pig in a couple of days and see how many pups there are - a very very kind offer - although my heart is saying I want Abyssinian girls as that was Bumbles breed so they would be like him personality wise - but my head says he cannot be replaced - so I don't know what to do - I think I might try the 2 old ladies together on Sunday and if that works they can stay together and I will still possibly get 2 baby girls because if my cranky old Truffles passes first Bumbles wife will still need company.I don't know what to do because I still feel that he is around - it's like he is living in my head - all my emotional input went into him -no husband or partner / boyfriend so all my affection went to him - now i'm lost as my two ladies don't like me to cuddle them,they only allow my daughter to - Night night my baby lion xx
