Bumble Ill Again - When Will It End ?

So on checking Bumble the other night noticed he had pooh feet again - went to clean off the pooh and he had hard black skin and foot looked swollen - took him to see the vet thinking that it might be the start of bumblefoot - but vet picked off the skin and and a load of yellow pus and blood came out - turns out that it was a nasty ulcer - must have been really painful for him - but he wasn't limping - he is still on septrin and metacam for his dodgy bladder after his hour long operation the other week - so I think that was helping him - he now has quite a crater in his foot.Vet cleaned it out with hibiscrub and has given me more septrin - has ordered in something called Dentisept Dog & Cat - which he says is fairly new to the market - it's a type of antiseptic - I have to clean and dry the paw,then put a blob on it - it will then dry quickly and seal the wound for 24 hrs.

Poor Bumble isn't having much luck - cheapest trip to the vets I have had in a long time - as insurance bills are up to over £1500 in the last few weeks - tonights bill was

£11-20 pet follow on consultation
£6.24 20ml of septrin
£16-20 tube of Dentisept - so

£32-64

hope this is the last visit to the vets for a while.
 
Poor Bumble! but a great relief that the infection is not bumblefoot and can be cleared out. All the best!
It is very likely that his immune system is somewhat lowered at the moment, so he is a bit more prone to infections and parasitic hits. :(

Oh no poor Bumble, one thing after the other for the poor little love.
That Dentisept sounds really good.

Poor Bumble, hopefully this will be the end to your run of guinea pig illnesses. Thank goodness for Insurance eh?

I just had little Wilma to the vet Monday to remove a huge stone seems it doesn't rain for either of us but it pours. Thankfully no surgery was required because the stone was already on it's way out - turns out it pays to be a girl certainly on this occasion it did. Thinking we need a run of good luck very soon.

Little Bumble certainly is a wee fighter. Is he recovering well from his bladder operation?
