It is great you have an appointment for them. I hope it is soon. Once you get suitable bedding it will help.

It took me forever to find an animal hospital that did work on small mammals, but I finally got and appointment for them on Tuesday. Yes and afterwards I'll definitely look into some bedding for them. Thank you for all your help:)

That is great. They will not recover while still be bedded on newspaper though so I really hope you can get vetbed soon. How often are you changing the newspaper?

Well I use to change it every 2 days, but now I'm changing it every day to keep it from being all gross

That explains things. It was standing in their urine which would have caused the sores. Really it needs to be changed each time they wee.

I'll do the best I can, but I'm not home during the day so I usually clean I when I get home

I use newspaper to line my boys litter boxes... then a puppy pad then meadow hay. I do a full clean out of these every morning at 7am followed by a spot clean in the evening. The following morning that newspaper is sodden so I cant imagine what it would be like after 2 days. Also be wary of not covering it up...the ink may be harmful to your babies if eaten x

I agree, my newspaper in the hay lofts gets really sodden and is changed at least once a day.

For the Epsom salts I am not sure, I think if the wound is not open then you can still use them but I am just thinking how much it hurts if I have an ulcer in my mouth and put salt on it. I think if it is scabbed though then it is not an open wound.

If you can get a photo of their feet it would really help.

So I should cover up the newspaper with a puppy pad over top. Okay sounds good:) thank you:)
I'll get a picture up(once I figure out how too:)) so you can see. And does it spread?

Emma try to make their housing as comfy as possible. Just newspaper with a puppy pad is hard and prob not very comfy to live/walk on. Try newspaper, a puppy pad then some towels over the top until you can invest in some vet bed and/or fleece. This is what my boys live on...you are looking at around 28 Canadian dollars for a fleece 2x3 size. It can be washed twice a week and they dry very quickly. See how thick and soft it is? Newspaper and just puppy pads isn't that great they need more/better flooring to walk on. Especially if you want their feet to clear up once you've seen the vet.Constant pressure on sore feet like this must be very painful, if you have/buy fleece and or vetbed you wouldn't need to " cast" their feet as they do need to breath, especially when open sores are present. :)
