Vet didn't seem to think he needed pain relief.

Do you think it's best to keep them separated until berts health improves?

I am not sure as they may be lonely and pine for each other. Does Bert seem happy with his friend?

If the vet is right and he has damage to his pelvis then I would think he would need even mild pain relief.

Ok, will try and get him some. Vet said that its slightly bruised.

I think Bert is actually quite relieved to have some peace! I just tried putting them together and Ernie is still in a funny mood and was chasing Bert straight away

Vet also said that they shouldn't have veg everyday- just every couple?

No they should have it at least once a day, preferably twice. Not loads just a small amount.

As @helen105281 says they should have veg everyday. Guinea Pigs do not produce Vit C and therefore can develop Scurvy if they do not have the aquired amount.

A cup of veg daily for each pig is sufficiant and they should have at least 1 piece of high Vit C veg. I feed mine a quarter size piece of bell pepper each...any colour once a day with romaine lettuce, cucumber and green beans mostly.

Wow that is really comprehensive! Definitely printing that out right now!

They have always been so happy- it's very sad that all this is happening- I hope that they can get along again.

Thanks everyone for all your help. Well keep you posted:) night for now
