I'm starting to think my guinea has bumblefoot she has quite swollen feet, with scabby swollen sores. I found it just yesterday and am looking to book her into a vet but am just wondering, is there anything i should do in the meantime and does anyone know perhaps the general cost of a check up i cant seem to find anything on my local vets website.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My pig Sam has bumblefoot and the only thing that has helped is using vet bed in the cage instead of woodshavings etc.His feet are less swollen and less red since I started using it.I highly recommend it.

Ok thank you! I will put some better bedding in the cage to see if it helps :)

I think you misunderstood me lol, I meant I don't use woodshavings anymore and use vet bed instead.I bought mine in pets at home but you can buy it from eBay x

Bumblefoot can be caused by rough bedding/flooring or just a cut or scratch to the foot.

Soft bedding will definitely make guinea more comfortable.

I think @TAN had experience with bumblefoot on bumble.

I soaked my piggys feet that I rehomed in warm water with Epsom salts dissolved in them. Not sure why not normal salt. &I got in some gorgeous guineas foot cream to rub
On her soaked &dried off feet.
She was 5yrs old &I think she had had problems for a long time. I managed to get her walking properly again.
She had scabs with pus'sy infection
On her soles.
She had a foot soak&massage every night.
Unfortunately I lost her to other health issues aged five. I only had her a couple of months :(

Circulation issues can also play a part in bumblefoot.
I would get her checked out at a vets to sort pain meds &see if there's an underlying cause.

nHope u can get it sorted. Xx

Ok thanks for the advice, I'll probably pick up some epsom salt tommorrow when i go to the store.

It's worth getting her checked out by a vet to ensure its not infected and needing antibiotics.
