I think my guinea pig has bumblefoot, how is it treated?

Could you possibly post a picture of the foot?

As for treatment I'll leave that to more experienced members but I'd advise seeing a vet.

Bumblefoot is quite serious and needs correct treatment as prescribed by a vet. It also needs prompt treatment if it is going to be healed.

Hello, agree with above she need to see a vet asap, she'll need antibiotics if so

We have a vet locator here Guinea Pig Vet Locator

looks fairly normal although the toes look a bit chubbier

Ditto - only a vet could determine the cause of the swelling and prescribe the appropriate treatment. It could be trauma, infection, early stages bumblefoot and possibly a host of other conditions I'm not even aware of. In either case, great that you caught it in what appears to be the early stages - this means any vet bills and treatments would be more manageable and the piggy should recover more quickly. :)

Can anyone help me is this bumblefoot I'm quite worried

Hi Carla. It's easier for members to give advice if you post a new thread rather than add to old posts as people are more likely to see it especially our health and illness experts. To me that looks like foot spurs which are like flaps of hardened dead skin and are generally harmless unless they are likely to get caught. As with all advice though, if you are at all concerned please consult a vet for proper diagnosis

Thank you for your reply! I tried to start a new thread but i was unable to post a photo through my phone but was able to add one onto here as a reply.
I will keep an eye on it and if it develops i will take him to the vet. Thank you

Here is the guinea lynx info on spurs so you can have a look and see if you think it's that. I've had a few develop them. Only one of my current four has them and it doesn't cause any problems so I'm just leaving it be for now. If it starts to get long I will trim it so she doesn't catch it
