Hiya
Does anyone have any remedies that I can try at home first, before taking him to the vet as he does get very stressed at the vets, for a 6 year old male guinea pig that has bumblefoot? He does has a scab on the bottom of his foot but isn't overly swollen as I had been away and the person who had been looking after my animals didn't realise what had happened to his foot so didn't immediately clean it to prevent it from getting worse
totally my fault as should of boarded them all rather than ask someone to look after them. I have been cleaning it by bathing his feet in a povoiodine solution recommended by a friend who had a piggy with this before but would like to know how else I can keep it clean and if there are any other lotions or potions I could use to help before taking him to the vet?(other than the obvious of constantly cleaning his bedding and replacing and making sure his feet are dry before I put him back so shavings doesn't stick to it). He doesnt seem to be in any pain as he will quite happily let me touch it and clean his foot so am hoping I can save him the stress of going to the vet and asking for some painkillers for him? But please say if I should take him and get him some
Any information is greatly welcomed as would not want to leave him in any unnecessary pain
Thanks in advance
