Can this be fed to guinea pigs? It says its for guinea pigs and I had a sample of the normal and the herb one from pampared piggy's and my two seem to like it. I'm trying to find a nugget food that they like and they don't like wagg or burgess. Ive now tried this and they like it. The one Ive not tries is cavy cuisine. They are currently on Gerty.
This is the website with the ingredients are they ok?

I have a sample of cavy cuisine so will try them with that see which they like best. Hopefully they will like it!

I would not advise feeding "Bunny Feast" continuously, Joey&Gizmo. However, I believe it would be best to offer "Bunny Feast" as a treat rather than a continuous feed.

I've never tried this one but thought about ordering it a few times just to mix in with their normal pellets. I've seen it recommended on Galens website. I buy pellets from PaH (if you compare the nutritional value on their nuggets to Burgess Excel there is very little difference) in the largest bag and then mix in other pellets such as Excel or Science Selective.

You can find most of the main brand pellet nutritional values online so can compare them to this one. Lucerne is higher on the list for this one than say Excel for example so suggests a higher alfalfa content. Most pellets here contain alfalfa whereas the American pellets, like Cavy Cusine are timothy based. I know a lot of people who like Cavy Cuisine I just find it very high priced and its just not feasible for me with so many mouths to feed.

If you decide to try the Bunny Feast I'd be really interested to see what you think of it.

I had free samples on the bunny feast from pampared piggy's and when I mixed it into the gerty they ate all of that first then the gerty. I really want them to take to nuggets but I tried wagg nuggets and Burgess original and the blackcurrant ones but they just left them. My last resort is to try the cavy cuisine and knowing my luck they will like them as they are the most expensive!
How long does it take them to change to nuggets? Ive had sample bags of all of the nuggets above so luckily Ive not wasted any money as they were free. They have been on gerty for 2 years as they were 1 when I had them and Ive had them a year and the rescue centre fed them gerty so i continued. But now they are leaving the yellow corn and biscuits. Any other suggestions on what to try?

Some of mine were originally on Gerty when I first got them until I changed them over to nuggets. They selective fed on muesli mixes and I'm really not a fan so got them onto pellets. First one I used was Burgess Excel and they all seemed to like it but it can take a bit of getting used to. Start of by mixing in some of the pellet. Then over a period of weeks mix in a little more pellet and a little less of the Gerty until eventually they are only getting the pellet. Have you tried Science Selective? Available in lots of places and think Zooplus stock it now as well. I use it for my chins as widely available here and they love it. I've just recently got a sample of it for the piggys to try but my local pet shops don't stock it.

I'm desperate to get them onto the nuggets as like you said they can selectively feed and I think mine are starting to do that now. I think I will keep trying the Burgess as I can easily buy that from the market near me. Ive sent for a sample bag of the supreme nuggets so will see if they like them. Fingers crossed they will eventually take to the nuggets!

Hello, I have also tried this food again I brought this at the Bradford Excel show along with their Alpine Hay, my piggies wont touch normal hay now so I am having to order it from the Hay Experts on line, I particularly like the chamomile one. Food wise my lot are on the MeadowFeast Herb with my old boar who is on the oral care one as he has teeth problems. I use less of this food than some of the other brands and they do seem to like it and the large pellet size I assume is good for their teeth.

Personally I would either buy from AnimalMagic on line or the Hay Experts on line rather than Zooplus as you get the personal service, if not I am sure if you go onto the bunny website you can find details of shops who stock it or where it can be obtained.

I give all of my animals as natural a diet as possible, and with my small furries I dont like giving them coloured biscuits as I cant believe its natural for them, anyway thats my thoughts.

Hiya
It is meant as a complete food, but can be used in proportion with their current food. The good thing about this food is you can literally see the fibre running through it. I have a free sample bag if you'd like to try it, just drop me an email via our website as not got pm facility yet.
