I'm just wondering, does anyone feed their piggies on Bunny pellets alone? At present, mine have Harrington's and Bunny, and the Bunny last a lot longer than the Harri's. So was thinking maybe I should just have them on the Bunny pellets. (Shame they're so difficult to get hold of.) I have read on here that the Bunny are a very good brand, too.

I personally haven't used them. However, it seems that in Germany, Bunny is a very popular brand, and it's the pellet feed of choice for many guinea pigs. Why do you think Bunny might be unsuitable to be fed alone, without mixing them with another pellet food?

:D Its not that I think it has to be fed with another pellet. I feed both just so my pigs get the benefit of both pellets and a bit of variety. But I wondered if they would do all right just on the Bunny, as it is a good brand and seems quite economical (except for the fact that the smallest bag is £22.0)

I personally think it's an excellent choice. I read some German guinea pig forums (I wouldn't dare write in them, my German is too rudimentary, hehe), and I've come to appreciate the care Germans have for proper nutrition and listing all ingredients meticulously. Lots of people like Bunny and use it as their feed of choice. For me, when I calculate delivery costs, Bunny is more expensive than Oxbow, so I just stick to Oxbow.

:D Thanks, @RosieMaia I may just try it then, after their Harrington's has run out. Looking at my order history, I seem to have been ordering 2 or 3 bags of the Harri's every month or so. So it will be interesting to see how often I have to order the Bunny on its own. :hmm:

If you are certain they like and are eating the Bunny then it is fine to feed it on it's own.

I feed mine exclusively on Bunny (it was recommended by several people including the breeder and pet shop) and it is easy to get here. Obviously they get hay and fresh too.
I was also told (although I haven't tested the theory yet), that because it is a good food and decent quality, they tend to eat less than they would if you gave them a cheaper food.
My three are still babies (10 weeks) but although they are offered unlimited Bunny pellets, they tend to eat less than an egg cup per day (between all 3).
I am sure this will increase as they get older though!
