I have 3 guinea-pigs, Edie and Marmalade are 3 and Willow will be 6 months old at the end of this month. I feed them burgess excel and I used to measure it out properly for them but recently I've just been putting food in because Willow was quite small and I wanted her to gain weight but she's not almost the same size as Edie and Marmalade. How much should they get? Also, is it better to feed them one meal a day or split the amount of pellets into two meals?

I've got rabbits and they don't get many pellets a day to encourage them to eat lots of hay, and they always rush to eat all their pellets straight away and the guinea-pig don't and never have done this, am I feeding them too much or are they just not as interested in pellets as my rabbits are?

Some guinea pigs seem to prefer the blackcurrant and oregano nuggets rather than the normal excel - have you tried those?
I tend to feed a morning 'breakfast' of nuggets and then the other half of their amount in the evening but that is really to limit the amount of poos that end up in amongt the nuggets!

I'm with gp learner, try the oregano one. With excel having flavours you don't need to wean them over as it's pretty much the same, just the flavour difference.
Bobby doesn't tend to eat many nuggets and Frankie usually eats all of them. Bobby eats most of the veg and that's what more important in their diet.

Thank you, I think I'll try giving them the oregano nuggets, but I might have to wait a while because I accidently just bought two 10kg bags of food instead of one online so they've got a lot of food to get through first :))

Do your guinea-pigs eat all their pellets quite quickly?

How about getting a 2kg of oregano, put them on that for a couple of weeks to change it, they should be fine with the normal ones then :)

My herd eat their small bowl of pellets between them within an hour or two. My pair of boys take a few days to empty a bowl and my Saffy can take over a week to finish her bowl. It seems to vary.
