Does anyone know if this is decent hay? I normally feed Alfalfa king brand timothy hay (its not alfalfa hay, its just the brand name) but its £9 for a 1.5kg bag so quite expensive. Due to the recent string of vet bills i've had to alternate between that and p@h timothy hay. But the last batch of pets at home timothy hay i bought smelled funny and caused diahorrea for 2 of my 3 sows (the wee one has guts of steel!). I cant get the alfalfa king one atm as the shop is out an dont drive so cant travel. I picked up this,. Any idea if its decent? Its 100% barn dry grass, 55% beneficial fibre, 29% crude fiber and 8% protein. It says for rabbits but has no additives

I spotted that when I was in PAH the other day and was wondering what it'd be like. I use the burgess excel Timothy hay with dandelion and marigold, and I've also used their birch bark hay mix and my pigs love them. Atm I'm alternating between the alfalfa king timothy and the burgess with dandelion and if anything they're equally exited about both. I tend to find that the burgess is chopped shorter compared to the alfalfa king hays though.

I have the same issue with not being able to drive and can highly recommend The Hay Experts website, they sell the alfalfa king brand amongst others and actually have some lovely different hays to try.

Do let us know how you get on with the dried forage please (:

Mine prefer the alfalfa timothy. I used to buy this a while ago and it did look like dried grass but recently it seems to have changed to being rather stalky but after throwing 1/2 a bag away I would rather pay the extra for there to be no wastage. They just didn't like it

Taking a trip further out today for afalfa king timothy hay.. Mine like it but my queried kidney disease girl (but of a mystery as her symptoms near enough disappeared) is now drinking lots again and my 8 month old sow is now drinking lots! The only difference is the hay so I'm just going to stick to expensive stuff for now and see if symptoms reduce!

I've used it before as a treat hay. Found it a bit dry to be honest and the pigs weren't all that impressed.
