Has anyone else's piggies gone off of burgess nuggets? They have changed the bag style but they say the nuggets are the same? I am skeptical as fudge now won't eat them. He's eating his veg and hay as normal. But won't touch the nuggets. He's not pooping much either however I think it's due to the previous few days upset. "I had to separate my boys"

Hiya hun, my boys are not on these nuggets any more but I did buy a bag as a spare last week (I order mine on line and didn't know if it would arrive on time) I'm using them as a treat now and mine love the flavour I brought, all are still eating them. Odd that your fudge isn't :( mines the new style bag too x

I hope he's not coming down with something. ;( I think he may be depressed. (Seperated from Alby) here's hoping he starts pooping properly tomorrow. I cleaned them at 11:30 before I went out for the day and when I came home at 8pm fudges cage was clean (only about 2/3 poops. Whereas alby's cage omg about 30. Lol.

Hey Kell! I've been busy and not been on properly for quite a while - what nuggets hve you moved on to?
@Julie M I can add a pic of the ingredients in an old bag if you like so you can compare the list. I've also swapped off these but have still got an old bag on the go which I use for treats for the 4 girls. I daren't feed them to the 2 girls or the 2 boys as I they so readily eat the new ones I don't want to put them off!

@PiggySmitten it says in the pack. New pack same recipe. Strange. I really hope fudge starts pooping soon. I don't want to put them back together as they may fight again. ;( he's not impacted I don't think as I can't see anything.

Oh right. Well I'm probably going to be proved wrong but I'd like to think if they say that then it should be true!
You're probably right that it's more the other changes that are putting him off his food. At least nuggets aren't an essential part of diet. How's he doing with veg and hay? Still eating those?

He seems to be eating hay and veg. But not as greedy as Alby. He was grinding his teeth together there.

He's eating hay. I am hoping the lack if poops is due to the stress of moving cages yesterday amd all the bickering with his ex cagemate. I put in some soaked nuggets too he sniffed them and walked away.

The other thing is that maybe it is more noticeable what his appetite is now he's on his own. Maybe When he was with Alby it was not quite as obvious. Although I do still agree you that highly likely he is off his food a bit due to the stress.

Yes probably but it's the lack of poops. Only 2/3 since 11am.

No not posted yet. I am thinking it's the stress that's put him off eating. He's appearing to be eating ok now. Strange.

There's always something with our lovely piggies isn't there?! Our group of 4 have started squabbling over the ramp tunnel the last couple of days. They all want to go up and down at the same time. I'm worrying again they will somehow fall out of the cage at the top of the ramp!

OMG hope they r ok. Little monkeys. Alby appears to be enjoyin the peace and quiet. He has even started sleeping with his eyes shut. Wee soul. image.webp

Think I may have to get Fudge a more suitable friend. He's so sad looking. Mind u it was him that attacked Alby.

Julie, my Alex was abit like fudge when I split him and oreo up. Oreo was happy on his own but Alex looked sooooo sad for days as if braved, I'm unsure if he pooped much at that time I carnt remember sorry but lots of daily fuss helped him settle he's going for his op in about 6 weeks time then he's getting married in the summer :))

Hi, I noticed the new style bag in the shop (I prefer it orange!) and stayed away from that, but luckily my garden centre are still selling the old bags, they have not gone off them. I suppose we will have to see once we use the new style.
Sounds like a complaint will arise!

Aww bless, poor little man! Hopefully he'll start picking up soon! It's his own silly fault for being a naughty boy with his best friend! :P

Well there are lots of poops this morning. Woo hoo :yahoo: Never thought I would be happy about poop. Lol. I cleaned the full cages and fleeces before leaving for work. And once fudges cage was clean he pooped some more! Lol.

Thanks I may change to that as they aren't really eating burgess anymore.

My boys are on vitakraft emotion....no grain nuggets :) @PiggySmitten @Julie M
That's what we've gone on to too! Are you enjoying trying to sweep it up off the fleece?!

I also tried the JR farm grain free but none of them really liked it which was a shame because it was cheaper and Helen had looked at the content and thought it was quite good. It smelled lovely too.

Zooplus do three kinds of grain free was the JR one was from them hun as I ran the one I was unsure about passed Helen too as I had not heard of that make before we think its a new one, the bunny was abit to expensive what with moving, christmas, vet bills etc etc etc etc etc :) I think this one ive got them on is doing them the world of good oreo's hair seems silky and soft, ive noticed a difference in there tummies too since they have been on the grain free they poop more for a start lol and fudge is not struggling with mild bloat hardly at all now. It's taken a while for them to get used to but now they all eat it fine, It helps their teeth too I think chewing on those big chucks of nuggets :)

Yeah @MycuteBoys the JR grain free one was from Zooplus. It smells lovely and fruity. It doesn't disintegrate like the Vitacraft emotion one but our piggies definitely aren't that keen on it. They held out on the Vitacraft one but not as much as they refused the Jr farm one. I thought I'd try it as it was cheaper than the Vitacraft one.

I agree I think the Vitacraft one has made ours look a lot more lovely and healthy (not that they didn't before but there is a definite difference). Ours all poop loads anyway so can't say I've noticed a difference there lol.
