After having so many losses over the past month I finally found the perfect place for all my princess piggies.  Lilac Girl got herself back here too via an unconventional piggie train  :(.  As sick as it may seem I put Margalo wrapped up in the freezer becasue I didn't find the right place for her.  Then I found that I could get Lilac Girl back so she went in there too.  Finally to be joined by Sue.

Monday & Tuesday I spent at a family property left by my grandmother where I have a caravan.  We (my dad & I) are gradually doing the place up.  Its a derelict Water Mill.  We are steadily re-stocking the orchard with old variety fruit trees and we were putting in a cherry tree which I thought would be the ideal place to also put Margalo, Sue & Lilac Girl. I dug a huge hole & lined it with hay then which the piggies went in - then a bit of soil then the tree.  Eve helped me every step of the way too & wasn't once phased by it.  I did hide the pigs with hay as much as I could though!

These wonderful girls deserved a setting like this.  Each time I see the tree I'll think of these lost friends.

I did start to feel a bit bad about having the girls in the freezer but am now glad I did it because they have a very special resting place that will never be sold.

I wish I took a picture now - next time I go I will.

It's not sick, I think many owners find themselves in this position. All that matters is the girls got a proper burial and are now buried in a convenient and by the sounds of it a beautiful place. It's good that the property won't be sold, that is one of the reasons I haven't buried many of my pets in the garden as I dread to think of them being dug up and thrown in the rubbish or a skip years later. I am glad the girls are resting in piece and that you are also happy, it makes it a little easier to let go. The tree will be a lovely reminder of all the wonderful and happy times you had with the girls. ;)

R.I.P. Margalo, Lilac Girl and Sue. :'(

Hils i think that's lovely that they're together, particularly Margalo and Sue :'( :'( :'(
RIP little ladies you're now safely laid to rest in a beautiful meadow with trees and grass :-* :-* :-*

Yes Hils take a piccie so you can see 'their' tree grow i think Eve will appreciate it even more as she gets older

Yes, by the sounds of it Sue missed Margalo alot... :(finally they are reunited. I dont think there is anything wrong with keeping them in a freezer, what else were you supposed to do? I sounds like that watermill is a beautiful place and thats just what your wonderful girls deserve. Thank you for also giving Melua a nice burial, the poor little thing :'(

I think Glynis idea is very good - you could make like a scrapbook with pictures of the piggies, and also on every fifth page a new picture of the tree, so in years to come you can look back and see how that tree you planted has grown. That would be a nice memory, I think.

Thinking about you... it is so hard to let go of our little ones, but if its so many at the same time, its heartbreaking.

Aww that is lovley :smitten: I'm sure that tree will be so healhy and big having all those beautiful piggies under there :)

I'm so sorry you lost them all :'( RIP Little girls... we will miss you :'(

That is so lovely - a lovely resting place where you can sit and remember your long lost friends
Andy they are all together there

Its hard when you lose a pet and have to think about arrangements. I didnt want to bury my Billie somewhere that might later be sold on so I settled for cremation.

aww thats so sweet I have a few of my pigs buried under the willow and apple tree in my garden, some by the pond and some in my lavender garden all very special places the kids know not to do anythng there, its a great idea to keep them safe in the freezer until you know exactly what to do with them , its not morbid at all, now theya re all lying together in a wonderful remberance place maybe a plaque would finish it off, :)

Aww it sounds likr the perfect resting place for them al,l run free to the bridge

It was quite an up-beat occasion really. A beautiful day too. It is def the right place to put them. I'm going to hold off planting any more trees now until I have some more losses - hopefully it won't be for a year or 2 now!

A lovely tribute to 3 lovely girls :)

Not gruesome or morbid at all hils - they now have a very special resting place. The scrap book is a lovely idea, and photos of the tree will show you just how much your girls have helped it grow!

When we lost Roxy at the end of last year we couldn't decide where to bury her and the girls were really upset at the possibility of having to leave her behind should we move in the future. We ended up buying a huge planter and did just as you did hils, put in some soil, added hay and piggies, more soil and then we planted a Pieris (evergreen bush which produces beautiful red new growth each year, plus white flowers). We added a little copper plant tag - the sort you see in posh gardens with plant names on (only the best for our girl!) and added Roxy's name etc. The plant has thrived and each time we go out to sort out the piggies we have a little chat with Rox.

That sounds lovely Hils :) A beautiful resting place for the girls :)

Aw that is so lovely for your three wee ones. A lovely resting place for the little darlings. 0:)

Awwwh hils, it's not sick that you had them in your freezer, you just wanted to find a nice place for them where you can always go there, and lay them a flower or two :)

Awwwh R.I.P little girlies! I'm sure they'll enjoy munching on their hay over the rainbow bridge! :smitten:
Hope you're ok Hils x
