Burrito wrapping for squirmy furtadoes

Burrito wrapping a squirmy guinea pig to keep it calm while having teeth checked etc..The way they are wrapped is with a towel and wrapped like a burrito.

I tried to burrito wrap my Pepper when he was poorly with a tooth root abscess and I had to flush it out and also syringe feed him. It didn’t really work for me. In the end my husband held him when syringe feeding.

I used to wrap Rainbow Piggy Silver Fox Christian so that I could cut his nails. I would wrap him up pull out one foot, chop the nails, unwrap him, wrap him back up again and pull out another foot, chop his nails and so on until all his nails were cut. I couldn't do it any other way. In the end (after around 2 years!) he just let me cut them without wrapping him up. Here he is just cos he was such a handsome chap. (I called him Christian cos he was several shades of grey!)

I do and his brother Cutey Pie Dennis. They went to the Rainbow Bridge within 3 days of each other it was a coincidence. They weren't close and they were separated. Dennis lived with the love of his live The Ever Beautiful Betsy and Christian lived with his Mum Velvet and sister Meg. All 5 of them are now at the Rainbow Bridge.

I find a tea towel works better than a fluffy towel because being thinner it is easier to tell how firmly, or not, you are wrapping the pig. Stand the piggy on the tea towel further towards the middle than you might think and wrap it round quickly and firmly focusing particularly on the front legs as they are very good at getting them out quick.

Thanks for the help🌸

Plenty of treats in the form of cucumber or lettuce helped me too. :)
I found that one of my pigs felt much safer being wrapped when cutting his nails, whereas others preferred just being propped up against my knees.

May I ask if you are adopting again🥺
I have adopted 5 piggies in total in the last 4 years. I now have 3 of those adoptees still with me. The One and Only Thea of The Funky Fringe (she is now a diva in her dotage) who is 7 I've been her slave for 2 years and 3 months. Misty Morning is now 2 and her daughter Miss Bramble (GPU Rep) is 1 and I've been their Slave a year in April.
