She was doing that kind of motion, but she also sounded like she was chirping. When I reached in to touch her, she stropped, let me pet her, and hid in her house. What the heck was this?
I'm not exactly sure of an answer, but I've had a similar thing happen with my pigs. I know guinea pigs have no gag reflex so cant be sick. If they have eaten something too quickly or it has gone down the wrong way apparently they'll do that to try and dislodge it. I have also heard it could be hiccups, again from eating too fast or it going down the wrong way.
my pig done the same as yours, let me stroke him then went and hid he's fine, i'd just make sure he's drinking and that all his food is in small enough bits and there isnt anything thats snuck in the hay that shouldnt be there
The again i may be wrong so hopefully someone else can confirm this! x
mine do this too, sounds like a choking noise, sort of, but yes, they don't have a gag reflex so its literally a case of the greedies! they sometimes swallow too quickly and this is their way of dislodging it
