His testicles looked swollen last night and he would scream when he went to the toilet so he went to the vets this morning and the vet wasn't too sure what was wrong.

So they operated on in and discovered that his intestines had been poking into his scrotum. When he was asleep the intestines had gone back in so they stitches the hole.

They also neutered him so for the first time in 13 years I have an neutered boar

He is currently asleep in his temp home - poor boy :(

Poor boy - it is very painful! I hope that he recovers well!

oh deear thats what happened to my Piggy but his hernia was due to being neutered :(

I hope your baby will recover quickly and be well soon hugs.

When is your boy coming home?

Poor Butterscotch, that must have been very painful for him. Hope he gets better soon x

Butterscotch is home - been syringe feeding him, he has perked up a little but obviously in a bit of pain

Hes had a a wee but don't see any stools. I've taken the day off work today to spend syringe feeding him.

Aww poor wee guy. Hope he's feeling better soon. Give him a gentle nose rub from me.

The boys send healing wheeks.

Quiet not moving too much but I imagine he is sore. He does perk up a little though when I get him out. Hes managed to eat a spinach leaf anf two flaked pea. I'm still syringe feeding.

It is all still very sore, and the pain will probably still be there. It will proabably take a few days for things to normalise.

Your good care will make a huge difference! Perhaps you can try to feed some mushed up fresh poo from his best friend to reintroduce good bacteria to his guts. Extra vitamin C can also help. I am sure that you are weighing him regularly anyway!

Perhaps you can talk about gut mobility and pain when you see the vet for the post op check up?

Yeah I've been getting few of Loki's droppings.
His back at the vets on friday though I can take him back before then

is he in a cage next to loki's? just maybe if theyre next to each other he'll feel better i hope you're spoiling butters

yes he is :) Hes got a cat carrier with a towel in it to sleep on and its within a cage and I've put newspaper down incase he wants to wonder but at the moment he just wants to stay on his towel.

I just managed to get him to munch some hay - He only seems to be wanting to eat when I get him out. He doesn't bother otherwise - hopefully he will soon.

Thinking of you & Butterscotch, Hope he feel's better soon x

It took Hywel a few days to get through his own very painful episode and start eating again, so don't despair! I assume that Butterscotch is peeing and pooing again?

I am sure that you are keeping a beady eye on his privates for any new signs of swelling.

You'd best get used to being a piggy bar then... :))

Hi love how's the little guy today? :...

The girls and I are sending Butterscotch loads of friendly brrrrrrrrrrrr's and nose rubs XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

GET WELL SOON BUTTERS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hes lost quite a bit of weight :/ and doesn't seem interested in much at the moment :/

Poor thing, when is he due back for a check up?
