Buttons, Pewter, Benito & Cornelius

Oh what a delightful double couple, they are just so cute and friendly. Love the look of love photo with your husband and Cornelius ❤
Young Ginger used to nip Ted at first but they became the very best of friends x
They absolutely adore each other (that’s after him being adamant that he‘s not a pet person :))) ❤

Well, after some thinking we have potentially worked out a way to give Pewter and Benito more space. As a trial run, Buttons & Cornelius will move to the front of the room on Saturday - just for us to see if the cage would work there or if it would be too much in the way. And if we decide that their new position works, we‘ll be able to extend Pew & Benito‘s cage to about 120cm x 135cm  She‘ll be the happiest pig on earth if she gets all that space :)) Fingers crossed!

Guess who‘s spending the afternoon in the time out pen to sort out their differences... that would be Pewter & Benito! Turns out their teenage hormones are making the start of their relationship a bit of a bumpy ride! Pewter just had a very strong season which - I believe - caused a bit of a hormone spike in Benito. So hormones are flying high in our household! Today was the first time we had to intervene with a placemat, though as Pewter lunged halfway across the cage to get to Benito. OH thankfully reacted quickly and pushed a placemat between them - otherwise I think this situation might have ended with a rolling ball of fur. They‘ve been absolutely fine since we‘ve put them in the time out pen. Munching hay, napping next to each other like nothing had happened. We‘ll keep them in there until later tonight and then try them back in their cage. And if it doesn’t work out, I‘ll set up their temporary home in the time out pen until we have everything together to extend their cage. What a stressful Sunday! But I still love them, silly sausages

Wow, Pewter lunging at Benito?! Butter wouldn’t melt is obviously a façade!
Oh she’s a feisty one (her innocent face is definitely a facade) but I‘ve never seen her that aggressive! She pretty much flew halfway across the cage and landed on top of Benito. No idea what caused it either, they seemed fine one second and then suddenly clashed the next 🤷‍♀️

We‘re back! We’re sorry we haven’t been online much lately - as some of you know, we had a horrible start into 2021 so I decided I needed a break for a little while. I‘m feeling much better and the piggies have done an amazing job in helping me through the worst of my grief. So we thought it’s time for a little update! 💕

Our 4 are all well and cheeky as always. Pewter & Benito are finally best friends after expanding their cage and they now share everything from hideys, hay bags to water bottles :D Buttons & Cornelius are still the cutest couple in this house and spend all their time together. Cornelius is turning into the cheekiest pig I‘ve ever seen - from pulling up strands of the lounge carpet, eating the door to the front all, to teaching himself how to jump up the stairs. He knows how to keep us on our toes! But he makes up for it by giving the best cuddles (and peeing on us, but that’s on me for not knowing when his little peanut bladder is full 😂). Here are some pics of the last few weeks:

He was very proud and confused at the same time because he didn’t know how to get back down again :))

Aw, good to see you’re back 😄 Love the photos of your little foursome, glad they are all getting along well, and no more fallouts from Pewter and Benito x

Welcome back! I’m so pleased your piggies are helping you through grief. It’s lovely to see your gorgeous piggies again :) x
Aww thank you! It‘s good to be back, I really missed the forum! The piggies say they‘re happy to be back too - they missed all the lovely comments from the lovely people on here 💕 x

Welcome back. I’m glad all is well with you and your piggies 😍

We thought it‘s time for a little update from the gang! Not much has happened in our household since the last one. Pewter has been diagnosed with a mild form of IC which we‘re currently trying to get on top of but that was about it. Benito is still a happy little man and Buttons & Cornelius‘ bond is getting stronger everyday.

Pew‘s shaved belly after her x ray (spoiler alert: she was not happy with me!)

I don’t think Pewter‘s quite worked out how to use her hammock yet 😂

Cornelius has a new nickname; he now goes by corn dog. I have no idea why, this is between him and OH 😂

Aw hello gorgeous piglets   Aliona feels your pain with the naked tummy Pewter, but she says it’ll soon grow back and you’ll have a warm tum again soon! She’s worked out about how to use hammocks a lot more than my gang! :)) Glad they’re all doing so well x

Oh what can I say     Pewter your little tummy hair will goes back very quickly x

It‘s been WAY too long since the last piggy update! The last few months were pretty crazy and a lot has happened. My partner and I have decided to part ways a couple of months ago and I have decided that I want to be close to my family in Austria again. So the piggies and I embarked on a journey. And what a journey it was! I decided driving was the best way to ensure the piggies safe - and in the end, it was probably also the cheapest way to get all my stuff from A to B. Originally, this trip was meant to take 2 days - about 8 hours on the first day and then another 10 hours the next day. Life had other plans, however, and we got caught up in the Eurotunnel chaos and were delayed by 9 hours! Poor piggies were in their tiny transport boxes for nearly 18 hours that day. Safe to say, when we got home on Sunday evening after about 40 hours of being on the road/in a hotel we were all exhausted. But we made it! Everyone is alive (phew!) and well - me included.

The piggies have settled well so far and finally started to gain some of that lost weight back. It‘s a slow process but they‘re all happy and stuffing their faces so I‘m not complaining. We‘re currently living with my dad who they‘ve already wrapped around their little paws - especially Pewter, she adores him. So yes, my British piggies are now living in the alps & they say it‘s awesome (even though the journey was a bit crap!).

PS There‘s a lack of Buttons‘ pigtures, she is the shyest of the lot so I‘ve been giving her space to settle. She says there‘ll be lots of pigtures coming once she feels 100% comfortable!

Aw, it’s so lovely to hear from you and the piggies. So sorry things didn’t work out in York but now you are back with your family which is lovely. :hug:Good your Dad has fallen for the little piggies, it would have been so difficult not to, they are all so gorgeous
Gosh what a journey for you all had. Bill and Ted were professional travellers with 600 mile round trips for Ted’s dentals but your piggies beat that by a long way and have done amazingly well. You must be so relieved you are all now settled and ready to start a new chapter of your life x

Can't believe I missed this thread. The pigtures are adooorable. Glad you all made the awful journey and settling into being Alpine piggies ❤️

It’s lovely to hear from you again. I’m sorry things didn’t work out between you and your partner but I am glad you are back with your family and your dad has fallen for your gorgeous piggies x

Sorry that your relationship didn’t work out and you had such a rotten journey home.
Hope you all settle well back in Austria.
Are they already bilingual?

I’m sorry things didn’t work out and that your journey didn’t go as planned.
I hope you all settle well!
