Okay, all the shelters around me that have guinea pigs available are hours+ away and it just breaks my heart to see her all alone when I can't really talk to her. And I think the best option for her to get a friend and for me not to drive multiple hours per day. I'm still not sure if I should do this.

I know that there's a lot of pressure to "adopt, not shop" but guinea pigs in pet stores need homes too. I know people say "you shouldn't support mass breeding for profit" etc etc but the way I see it, either good owners like us can buy them from the pet stores, or a parent will buy them for an 8 year old who'll get bored of them within a week and the poor things will live at the bottom of the garden all alone in a little hutch. All guinea pigs deserve good homes, not just rescue guinea pigs. Pretty much ALL guinea pigs in rescues will go to good homes. Because most rescues make sure they're going to good homes. Pet stores dont, pet stores will sell to anyone. Better they sell to you than someone who won't look after it properly!

Well, true I always feel so bad walking past those cramped aquariums that are so-called "cages." I'm going to see the female piggies and rescue one. I'll buy some new toys for them there and welcome the new little one home. It also just feels so sad to replace my little oreo when I finally decided a name for her, but she just passed.
