Hi again

As some of you know from my thread on the health board, I have found a whopping lump on buzz's neck yesterday afternoon. He's booked in the vet tomorrow morning, but the reason I am posting here is I can see a tear mark on Buzz's ear by the lump, and I therefore think the lump is an abscess from a bite 😖

The boys seem to get on okay, they don't cuddle and often seem to be in different areas of the cage. They can both eat from the same pile of veg without them grumbling. I do see some rumbling at times and I've seen teeth chattering before, but normally one pig will just walk away. Woody is definitely the dominant pig.

Is the bite alone enough to think they should be separated, or can they have almost 'one-off' scraps? Even without scraps I'm not sure they 'love' each other, they don't even seem to want to be near each other 🤷🏼‍♀️they have very different personalities. Buzz is calm and mild, very easy to handle and gets on with other pigs. Woody is like a wheaking tornado of cuteness who screams at the top of his lungs when he hears the fridge door open and likes everything his own way. I'm sure I've seen him pee on Buzz a few times too.

I just don't know (I've read the guides a few times) if Buzz has had enough. If his quiet behaviour is actually because of woody. As far as I am aware they are siblings, and they're about 13 months old. We rescued them at 9 months old from pets at home (hell hole!). I'm tempted to let the vet check buzz for any further evidence of fighting or bullying before deciding. If they need to be separated I will definitely be keeping them both, having read the guides I think woody would then do best being neutered and getting a little wife, and buzz may be able to rebond with another boar, though I may go down the same route for him too.

Thank you for reading x

PLEASE have that abscess seen as soon as possible; the longer you leave and the larger it grows, the deeper it will go and the greater the risk of it bursting and infection getting into the body and into the blood stream. It is already very large and soft, which means that it is filled with infectious fluid and pus. :(

The boys have certainly had a major dust-up and the rift can come up again.

I did call the vet this morning and spoke to the vet who insisted it wasn't an emergency 🤷🏼‍♀️ he is booked in for 9.50 tomorrow. She was pretty relaxed about it. I was up til gone 2am worrying about him again 🤦‍♀️ they seem fine, not totally reliant on each other but 'fine' 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh no.... poor boy... i hope it goes well at the vets tomorrow xx
